Michael I happened to be up this morning, and just couldn't resist answering. I love trivia!

I'm not going to actively compete, though, because I want someone else to win this.

I've been a sucker for trivia since as long as I can remember! Must be all that Scorpio energy...always loving a mystery! I remember when Trivia Pursuit came out--I was in total heaven. And Jeopardy on TV! Too bad no one would play with me after awhile.

I guess I'm sort of a new convert. I love what people like you and June have set up on Bella. It's a fun way to use this 'random' knowledge that we accumilate over the years of following our interests. Great fun! And a good way to chat with new people of like minds.

Good going, Michael!

I've just started to read the Tarot classic 78 Degrees of Wisdom, and was fascinated to find out that the Moon was the other side of the High Priestess (beyond the veil, through the pillars). Utterly fascinating!

I picked The Moon as the first card image from The Quest Tarot when I did my review of the deck because it's so darn gorgeous:

Wow, that IS a gorgeous card. It's a very interesting deck, I remember seeing it in the store and wondering if it was a well regarded deck. I think it was a little more pricey than other decks (possibly because of all the technology involved in the artwork, and research into the cross-references, etc.?)

It has so many little 'things' in the borders... connections, cross-references. And the artwork is beautiful. I'll have to check out your review. Maybe it will end up on my 'someday' list afterall.

BTW that day I saw the Quest deck, I ended up buying the Hanson-Roberts deck. I think I was looking for something simple that day, and small, and the deck sort of 'jumped off the shelf' at me. I was considering it, while I checked out the tarot section of BnN, but couldn't decide on a deck. So I went to the checkout, and saw that someone had laid another copy of it down by the check out. Well, I couldn't just leave it there, abandoned and all... You know the rest of the story.

Here's the review if you'r interested in seeing more cards and my take on the deck, Michael: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art14872.asp

I really, really love it.

I was in a bookstore today and almost bought a Radiant Waite deck, of all things! It's amazing how those decks try to seduce you. LOL

Not at all. You've got me thinking here, especially with those Trump questions (the astrology question, I had to look up in one of your articles ). My knowledge of the tarot is a bit spotty-- I sort of just learned here and there-- and this gets me to think about the cards more, and some of it is sinking in better because of it.

It would be fun to have more people join in though. ...anyone? ...anyone?

Welcome! It's never too late, Shakopeh. ;-)

Thanks Michael... I'm online sporadically so you will probably see the questions posted way before i do I'm not very good at reading tarot cards. I have an Aquarius & an old Waite deck.
Is the newsletter once a month? That's interesting too ...
I have been doing reiki since 96... I just went to a seminar for Taizanryu shiatsu... I started getting those treatments in Nov so i figured while his teacher is here i might as well grab the oportunity to learn more about it while the oppportunity presented itself...

I've started picking up my Hanson-Roberts deck again, since starting this contest and reading this site... inspiration! I have a few other decks, but the only one I'd been using lately is the Healing with the Angels oracle. I need to stop 'thinking' about them so much, and start to really use them.

Thanks for checking out my newsletter, yes it's monthly. I hope to have the 3rd issue out this weekend. My wife Johannah has been doing Reiki for about 2 years, and receiving it before that. I'm a CMT and Reflexologist, and hope to study Shiatsu at some point. Interesting stuff.

Hi Michael and Shakopeh,

Your discussion on healing methods is fascinating. I am a firm believer in Reflexology - learned it on my own back in the 70s and have used it consistently with patients and families ever since. Shiatsu and Reiki really intrigue me as well. When I use to practice as a nurse (I teach nursing now at a local university) I used to apply Therapeutic Touch to my clients (and taught their families how to use it as well - they found it very empowering).

One thing I admire about Therapeutic Touch is that it is so accessible for people. As you know, it came out of and is very associated with the nursing community. It illustrates that energy healing doesn't have to be associated with anything too 'mystical' for some people.

And it seems pretty easy to learn (if you take the time), so it's a good self care technique as well. And that's what I like about Reflexology. Reflexology has a real history of self care. And that's empowering for people. That's also what I hope my writing will be, empowering for people. Maybe that's what you do, June, in your tarot and other teaching (it sounds like it's what you do in your readings as well, from what I've read of you... great materials by the way).

And like I said, my wife does Reiki. I think she is more sensitive to energy than I am. I feel it sometimes, but I think I'm a little slow to feel it. I think my path is more in line with a balance of the more 'tactile' therapies with energy work. That's where Reflexology and Shiatsu come in, they're both energy modalities, but they are very touch/pressure oriented. Anyway, enough of my rant... like I said, interesting stuff.

Oh, and I'm interested in that book, I think it's called 'Tarot and the Healing Heart' (it's on June's Amazon book list). I had it out of the library before, but I think I need to learn more about tarot basics first. I'd be interested in anyone's experience of it.

Oh, and beautiful websites, June. I haven't had a chance to check them out thoroughly, but the artwork is stunning. Have you ever created your own tarot deck? I'd love to see that. Be well.

I began studying accupressure & moxibustion about 7 years ago so the shiatzu thing just kinda fit right in. I've been doing energy healing since the early 70's. I went into nursing in 89 so i get to use what i learn and combine it with energy often The shiatsu if you decide to persue it will fit right in with what you are doing. Can your wife pass attunements for reiki yet?

June! i love the art work in Rajunas refuge. I cant get the links to work in the healing & crystal sections but the others worked just fine. I wish i had more time to read but i'll read as much as i can . Very interesting stuff from the little i have read.
Is theraputic touch anything like reiki without the symbols? I've heard of it but dont really know what it is.
Reflexology is wonderful. I went to a chinese massage therapist who did tuina but also did reflexology on the feet... Gosh it was like walking on clouds when he was finished with me.
I'm so glad i registered here. Although its a bit late for the contest it turned into a very nice chat.
Thank you Michael & June for such interesting conversation

My wife is a level 2 (practioner), and hasn't felt guided to teach/attune yet, so has not gone on to level 3 (master). She's also an MFA in creative writing. She's got an short article lined up for this 'Mother's Day' newsletter-- our first collaborative effort in years (except for baby Rafael of course ;-)-- it's about mothers writing their birth stories. It should be pretty cool. She wants to teach a class about it. If we get the newsletter out this weekend it will be Sunday afternoon/night. Thanks for your interest.

I too signed up for your newsletter - it sounds very interesting. Your wife also sounds wonderful. Funny, a couple of days ago I had a "picture" in my mind of you and your wife doing a lot of work for the betterment of humankind together in the coming years. You both have very light caring and powerful energy around you when I focus on you as a couple.

It's listed under paganism but the group is very spiritually diverse. Alternative healing discussions come up a lot and I think several people there would enjoy your newsletter, at least from the ones I read in the archives.

Wow, thanks for sharing this June! Yes, I think that is a very deep hope my wife and I share. It's been one of those relationships where we just felt like we were 'supposed' to be together, like our life paths were meant to join. And together, do good things-- separate things, possibly, but complementary, if that makes any sense. Of course we still have some of our own fears/doubts/junk to clear out at this stage (like most people) but we do feel that there are better things ahead. It's hard to keep that always in mind, though. You words are very encouraging. I'm so glad I found this space.

And I think baby Rafael is going to blow us all away. He may be some of that "powerful energy" you sense around us. He absolutly shines!

Looks good, I just joined it. Thanks.

And while were all sharing, here's a Reflexology group some may be interested in. It has a very supportive and international flavor, a great group of professionals. I'm one of five moderators (open discussion, we mostly just moderate for spam):

I hope that's the right answer, Shannon, because I don't have a clue. [/qb]
It's from the book Putting the Tarot to Work, a book for managers in the workplace who also use the tarot. June wrote a review of it (<smile> I've been going through the archives here) [url=BellaOnline ALERT: For anti-spam reasons, we restrict the number of URLs allowed in a given post. Thanks Michael, I loved creating this site. Despite being a nurse, educated in "traditional" medical/nursing, this site reflects my true beliefs regarding health, healing, vitality, etc.

Is it Queen of Cups?

Woo hoo! I'm really looking forward to this, especially after learning more about you and the work that you do. It should be a great reading... now all I have to do is just narrow it down to five questions. Hmmm... I'll contact you soon.

It's been great meeting you all. What fun! Thanks for all the sharing, very cool.
