For a really decadent, and somewhat healthy treat every once in a while try making yourself some chocolate covered strawberries. You could have three for under 100 calories!

OK, summer is coming and I'm back into the search for healthy snacks! I've heard recently that apples-and-peanut-butter isn't exactly healthy, even though I love it. And raisins are too sugary? Is anything safe?

Thanks for starting this thread - I'm always on the lookout for healthy snacks...and you're right, summer does make me want a fresh change! I agree that adding fruits and proteins to your diet is great...Since I swim, I love the summer months because I can exercise outside and it's so enjoyable. Now I have a whole bunch of snacks to bring poolside...a great way to stay in shape and stay healthy, too!

I think the apples and peanut butter depends on how active you are. When I was growing up I ate that all the time, with natural peanut butter. No reason to add sugar deliberately But I know a friend who is in his 50s who ate those as an afternoon snack and his docctor yelled at him - he was far too sedentary for that amount of sugar to be worth it, apparently. He needed to eat something like a spinach salad for a snack.

I love broccoli bits or celery sticks

I think apples and peanut butter are yummy as long as you're using natural peanut butter.

It probably depends on how many you eat too - if you ate a barrel of apples a day and nothing else, you'd probably be in nutritional trouble

Without doubt apples are the best choice when it comes to make a healthy choice in snacks. They not only are good for health but also ensure that I am full and not starved.

I prefer to have fruits for my snacks.

They're not only good source of fiber but they are also good way to lose weight.

They don't have fats and are very rich in vitamins.
