What's a typical breakfast at your house?

We usually start the day with either a whole fruit smoothie (includes fresh fruit, OJ, liquid vitamin supplement, protein powder) and whole grain toast with peanut butter. Occasionally we'll indulge in scrambled eggs with fresh veggies and a side of fruit, or with oatmeal mixed with brown rice and fresh fruit.

Wow, you're far more industrious than we are! We just mix a SlimFast shake into some milk and get going - and that's it until dinner! And even at dinnertime we cook up something quick ...

Way to go MiMi. It sounds like you really have breakfast handled at your house. We like to start off the day with protein shakes also. The kids like oatmeal with bananas and pecans or scrambled eggs with sprouted wheat toast. It really works for us to start off the day with a good breakfast.

Lisa, do you really go all day on just a SlimFast?

I know I should eat breakfast, but for me all I can handle in the morning is COFFEE....(just not a morning person...)

Well, I'm a late person, so normally I wake up at say 11am. I have a slimfast shake around noon, and then my boyfriend gets home at around 8pm and we have dinner then. But I'm realizing that not only is that not really healthy but that I bloat incredibly from the milk and maybe I should stay away from them (although I *LOVE* those things and get cravings when I don't have them).

So now I'm going to try no-dairy for two weeks, and we just got a ton of fruits and veggies. So instead I'm going to have OJ and grapefruit and fruit for breakfast, and I got a ton of potatoes and broccoli for lunch. So I'll try eating more during the day - my body undoubtedly thinks I'm in some strange starvation mode and is hoarding fat for me <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
