to anyone who may have suggestions or other tried and true methods.

I highly recommend investing in a blocking board, they are properly marked and can save you alot of time and guess work. Always use it on a flat surface, remember not all of your projects have to be blocked.

I've tried a couple of ways. Wet towells, wetting the entire garment in a Eucalan wash, and spray bottles. I should not have tried blocking an entire cotton sweater soaking wet. It took forever, I lost patience, put it in the dryer and now I have a way-too-short sweater. Lesson learned.
