I over heard a conversation (dangerous I know) about a 'different' knitting technique used in England. Not sure if it is called Continental?

Does anyone know how to do this?

There is suppose to be a gettogether in VA in May to learn this technique.

Just wondering if anyone else has heard about this.

Welcome and yes I have heard of it, that is how I knit. If possible get to your nearest magazine/book store and take a look at interweave knits current issue as they are showing 6 different methods for knit, purl, and cast on. Continental method you hold the yarn in your left hand, and most other methods you are holding the yarn in your right. I learned how to crochet before knitting so for me I think I naturally felt more comfortable holding the yarn in my left.

I was brought up and taught to knit in Scotland. I knit holding the needles in my fist, not like a pencil, and prefer to use longer needles tucked under my elbows to control the tension.
