I do not know how to knit at this time. Recently one of my craft friends gave me four pairs of knitting needles all size No. 2. Two sets are long 11" long and two sets are 7-1/2" long.

My question is what size yarn or thread is correct for these needles? Can I use worsted weight yarn?

I have a quantity of worsted weight yarn from when I taught myself to crochet. Since then I only do thread crochet.

You could probably use a sport weight yarn. But it also depends on what you are making & the gauge you want to achieve. Do you have anything in mind? The long needles are good if your are knitting something large. You can find a good knitting site on about.com where you will find lots of free patterns. Hope I helped you a little bit.

Hi Joygal,

Thanks for your reply!

I posted another question on this board today: Is it possible to unravel one or more rows if I make a mistake?
