Well, in order to get conscious enough to recognize it *is* a new day, I start out with a cup of cappucino :-) I get household and Internet chores done throughout the morning, but always get outside for a bit to refill my birdfeeder and watch cats/lizards/birds/squirrels/kids/other wildlife in the yard.

If I can wake up to a quiet house and have a cup of coffee...then my day starts off great. But if the dog decides to wake up the same time I do and the hubby then the kid...forget it..especially when the dog starts barking his hello. I also really need a couple of decent hours of sleep otherwise I will be crabby (my son sleeps with us 5 out of 7 nights...an no I'm not attachment parenting here)

My best days result from getting up early, when the house is quiet and taking a hot cup of coffee to my office where I spend 30 to 45 minutes in Bible study. I have an organized study that I do -Bible Study Fellowship- and a devotional that came with my Bible program on my computer.
After that, I'm ready to take on any challenge my day brings!

So all of us so far would agree that a fresh, hot cup of coffee is important to a good morning... I heard on the news a few days ago that elderly women who had been regular coffee drinkers outperformed the non-coffee drinking elderly women in 11/12 mental acuity tests.
I've started doing a meditation and yoga program, at least a few mornings a week- It really does help me feel more centered and focused.

i have to get up at 7.30 to go to school so i normally set my alarm for 6.30 then hide it somewhere in my room, when it goes off i go find it (takes a few minutes) which wakes me up a bit then go back to bed and put it on snooze so it goes off every 5 minutes- after 30 an hour its annoyed me enough to wake me up. i then get dressed make a coffee with loads of suger and spark up a fag. wolla im awake

Good "Mornin:"
I am 68 and disabled, so starting the day is a big event for me! To welcome the day with my grandmother's rosary in hand, giving thanks and asking strength is first. Second is blesings for my family on a rosary my son gave me.
One cup of coffee and the classics playing softly, tell me it will be another good day. My dear friends on the computer, my daughter's loving phone call. Open the door and smell the cool, crisp, fresh air.
The world is alive and so am I, it will be a good day!!!

Blessings from my heart,
Bobute
