I used to be able to click View and then Source and it would bring up a notepad thingie with the coding, etc. of the webpage I was viewing!

It doesnt happen now! Nothing happens....any thoughts on what I have done to ruin my puter, somehow, that it wont do this anymore.....?

I'm pretty sure that value is stored in a registry entry and on my machine, when that stops working it's a sign that Explorer is hosed and needs to be reinstalled.

It's also a sign that you ran yourself out of disk space somehow. here's advice I found on another forum:

Reduce your cache size to something small like 1MB

Delete your Temporary Internet Files including all offline content.

Then go into settings settings and move the folder up C: so it is C:Temporary Internet Files

Reboot
Usually erasing the Temp Files takes care of the "view source" issue.

Yup I just read that same thing on another forum, that it usually involves your cache being full <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I am pretty sure it isnt the disk space, but maybe when I am not tired and can understand what you are talking about I will try it! LOL

Actually I know how to delete my temp internet files, we do it every so often, but we have tons of disk space.

I did indeed try to reinstall IE but I cant get the old one off and it stops and wont do the installation because the same version is still on there.....

Try to uninstall the IE program like this.

1. Go to My Computer > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs
2. Find Internet Explorer in the list of installed programs and highlight
3. Click to remove the program.

Now you probably can install the IE program again.
