So when Lamoriello hired Pat Burns to replace Kevin Constantine behind the Devils' bench last summer, players quietly wondered if Burns might rock the boat and keep his trademark mustache, which he's worn for the past 27 years.
Just before the start of the regular season, Burns shaved off the caterpillar. The Devils haven't lost since.
