Oh my gosh, I've got it.

About 7 years ago I went to get my hair bobbed and a perm done. My hair was to the middle of my back and I wanted a long bob at my shoulders.

Well she cut and then permed. eek

I came out with my hair cut above my ears and a perm that looked super scary because it was done on those little tiny poodle rods. She literally ended up shaving the back along the bottom of my hair line. That's when I knew beyond a doubt I was in serious trouble!!

I really think she forgot what she was doing and by the time I realized how short she was cutting it it was to late. When I asked she said "oh you'll look just like the picture". I think that's when she realized she was in trouble! The store ended up refunding my $85.00 because it looked nothing like the pic.

I cried for two weeks! Then I realized how convenient it was to not be able to touch your hair. I literally washed it and let it go. LOL I doubt I brushed, picked, combed or styled my hair twice in the 8 months it took for that perm to grow out.

Oh my! Long bob to Afro in one easy lesson! It's pretty scary, the power a hairdresser has!
That's why I don't mind when a client questions me about what I am about to do.

When I was a senior in high school, many years ago, I picked out a style in a magazine that the stylist said that she could do. When she was finished, my hair was about a half inch long all around, except for a little bit in the back. I was so upset, I was crying. She told me and my mother that she had given me the style I wanted, but that I had to wait for it to grow into it. Have you ever heard such nonsense?

LoL-- Hairdressers are REALLY creative when they mess up!! Sorry, I know it wasn't funny to you!
Something like that happened to me when I was 16. It wasn't as short as yours but it was a lot shorter than the picture I showed her. And she showed me how my hair really was like the picture.

Once an older friend of mine said I just had to go to her hairdresser.
When I got their for my haircut, she had a patch over one eye. She'd had some kind of eye surgery.
When the cut was done... One side was at least 2 inches shorter than the other! My friend didn't say anything. I think she was more concerned for her hairdresser's eye problem than my hair.

When I went to the hairdresser, I told her that I HATE poofy hair, and I wanted a really short cut. They had a vcr there, and I brought a tape of the american president with Annette Bening's hair cut. It was stylish, sheek, everything I wanted! I asked if she could do this, and let her know that I had TONS of hair, so she would have to thin it a bit to get it to NOT go poofy. Well, she thinned it.. and cut it, she cut it about 2 inches longer than the cut I wanted, and refused to cut it shorter, saying that I would "regret it later". Then, she went and curled, blew dry, hairsprayed, etc my hair until I had this HUGE poofy thing on my head! I looked like a cross between my mother and peggy bundy!!!! it was awful! luckily she cut it long, so I went to another hair dresser who fixed it.
