I love L'eau Par by Kenzo. It's for men, but works well as a unisex fragrance...much like ckONE.

My favorite is Victoria's Secret's Halo (Part of their Angel) line. I like the lighter smelling perfumes.

What I would REALLY like to find is something that TRULY smells like honeysuckle. There are a lot of perfumes that advertise it, but I've got the real thing growing in my back yard - and nothing comes close!

I have very, very high acidic content in my skin... I can't wear base metal or electroplated jewelry, and most perfumes turn a funny scent after its applied to my skin.

There are only a couple that I can wear at all, even though on me they smell completely different than they do on anyone else. I also have problems choosing scents among the very, very few I can wear because I'm so picky. *grins* I don't like most floral scents, with a couple of exceptions. I don't like heavy or fruity scents. I tend to prefer earthy scents, musks, spicy scents, that sort of thing. These are the few that I've found that I like, and that when I wear I always get compliments on:

Coty Wild Musk is an old favorite, although I don't wear it too often anymore.

Opium, which I only kind of like so I don't wear it, is one.

The other two are by the same company, Guerlain, Paris...

One is Shalimar, which I stopped wearing because my hubby said he'd be reminded of his grandmother (she wore it exclusively). *grins* I have a small bottle still, and I put it on one day and he asked me what I had on because he liked it... I just smiled and told him Shalimar. That's when he realized that I'm not kidding... Nothing smells the same on me as it does on anyone else.

But by that time I'd discovered Samsara, also by Guerlain. Its got a light but spicy scent... I'm with Moe... I don't like the hand cream or the body wash, its too heavy. But Samsara has, for the most part, become my signature scent. The Guerlain saleslady loves to see me coming, she's fascinated by how different her company's scents smell on me (I can wear them all, although I don't like them all).

When I don't wear commercial perfumes, I tend to choose essential oils that I like and blend scents myself. MusicalMom, maybe you should try to find a honeysuckle essential oil... A few drops in an alcohol/distilled water mix should give you a nice light scent that smells like real honeysuckle. Put it in an atomizer or a small misting spray bottle, and voila! I make a patchouli and pine mix for my hubby, and I have a sandalwood and jasmine blend that I like a lot for myself.

I wear Fendi , although it's harder to find. I can wear it to work (dental office) and it is understated and soft. The other one I like but don't have right now is Allure by Chanel. It's beautifully soft, lots of compliments with that one.

If you have a Whole Foods, they have some in the beauty/health section.

Most "New Age" shops have them... Places that sell incense and stuff like that usually have oils.

Two little things... True essential oils can't be worn directly on the skin... It either has to be diluted in a carrier oil (almond, grapeseed, mineral or some other light oil) or in an alcohol base. Which brings me to my second thing... Essential oils and perfume oils are not the same thing. Perfume oils are usually essential oils diluted in a carrier oil, but sometimes they are just really inferior product being passed off as essential oil.

That said, most of the stuff you find is pretty much what it says it is, though. One of the things I like best is that, for the most part, if an essential oil says "jasmine," it smells like jasmine... and they all mostly smell very similarly... Not a lot of disparity among the different companies. There's some, of course, but jasmine smells like jasmine no matter who makes the oil.

I used to use an online source, so if you are not able to find anything locally, let me know, I'll see if I can find the sites I used to use.
