do you swear by Mr. Clean, Fantastik, 409 or Tide with Bleach? What are your favorite name-brand cleansers?

I do not think this is main stream, but I use it for everything. All purpose white distilled vinegar.
I use 1/2 white vinegar and 1/2 water in a spray bottle.

It works on mirrors, counters, floors, toilets, shower, hard surfaces and even bird cages, and best of all it is non-toxic to my birds and kids!

I also use it in my bissell floorcleaner with a dash of dish soap. I pretreat tuff spots on the kitchen floor with the spraybottle and let it sit for awhile. <img src="/images/graemlins/fish.gif" alt="" />

Have a blessed day-

In my line of work I find that the main stream cleaners are rather expensive to use. If you compare costs you will see...

Say that you purchase a 23 oz bottle of clorox toilet bowl cleaner for $3.99 a bottle, what are you paying for a gallon of cleanser?

A gallon has 128 ozs. therefore if you divide $3.99 by 23 (the # of ounces in this package you come to a net price of $0.173 per ounce.) Now if you mulitply $0.173 by 128 ozs you see that a gallon of this product costs you $22.14

When I Compare that to a gallon of a bathroom cleaner that we get from the Janitorial supply store that is sold in concentrate form and costs out to a whole whopping $0.72 a gallon (yep that is 72 cents) for a more professional strength product that works better in my experience.

Then too, using natural cleaning methods (lemons, salt, vinegar, baking soda, etc.....) you can achieve just as big of a cost savings as the Janitorial products.

I have a weird one. My neighbor uses lemonade mix to clean her toilet bowl. The thing sparkles and there's no odor--other than the lemonade. Its scary.

Not really, most toilet bowl cleaners have acid as a main ingredient and lemon juice is an acid
