Very interesting! And that last part about the guy putting up a fake site about a mechanical man from the 1800s and then having people believe it is definitely true. It's amazing how many people will read something on the web and think, "It's on the web, it must be true" no matter how blatantly false it is!
I had someone write me about the famous computer joke on the jokes site, the one where the "Dell Tech Support" guy tells the hapless end user to just send his computer back, he's too stupid to use it. The guy who wrote me gave me all these reasons that it couldn't really have been a Dell tech support guy. I'm like HELLO it was a JOKE <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
