Maddy Curtis, American Idol Season 9 contestant in Boston who earned the first golden ticket to LA, has four brothers with Down syndrome (3 adopted). Her beautiful rendition of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" was amazing.

Read more about her family in a 2008 Washington Post article on Down syndrome and adoption:
Quote:
A Leap of Love Jonny and Madeleine, the eighth and ninth children in the Curtis family, were born 54 weeks apart but grew up in many ways like twins. Best friends from the beginning, they learned to walk and sound out words together. But Madeleine's development soon outpaced her older brother's.

I'm sure there are videos of her audition if you do a quick search on YouTube.
