There's a new article up about Martial Arts birthday parties and I'm wondering how many parents have considered or done such with their children?

I've assisted at a few and they were really a blast for the children. We had the students line up. We first laid down the rules and had them practice a bit. Like if we call "Break", they have to stand up and get into a ready stance. We did that for a bit and played it like a red-light-green-light game. We did some warm-ups, easy stuff first like running in place. Then we did some more complicated warm-ups like monkey jacks. We taught them a simple punch series and then we had these water dummies that they could line up and try the punch out on. When we were done, we sat them all down and talked to them about being a Martial Artist is more than just the punches and kicks; listen to their parents, etc.

It really was a good turn out and from all the comments we received from their parents, the kids really seemed to enjoy it.

Anyone else have had experience with these and would like to share?
